Guide

Grey hair. Three ways, and none of them is wrong.

Cover it, blend it softly or wear it as it is: that is your decision. Our job is to walk the chosen way so that it looks like you and not like colour.

Why there is no standard formula

How much grey there is decides, and that changes.

Greying hair is never even. Whether a quarter, half or three quarters is white changes everything about the mixture. There is no single colour that suits every greying guest.

And the share keeps changing. The mixture from last time is therefore not automatically the right one. The more often we see your hair, the more precise the match becomes.

  • The colour follows how much grey there is
  • Never colour over hair that is already coloured
  • What fitted last year may not fit today

More on this: Colour, tint or glossing.

The three ways

What you can choose, and what it means.

Cover

The grey disappears

Colour covers completely. In return the roots grow out visibly and need a regular appointment.

Blend

The grey becomes softer

A gentle colour that fades again over time blends in up to a quarter of the grey, according to the manufacturer. The grey stays, it simply no longer stands out. And because nothing has a sharp edge, there is no hard regrowth line.

Wear it

Natural grey, guided

Anyone who wants to stop colouring does not have to live with two colours for months. The transition can be planned. Tell us where you want to go.

Frequently asked questions

About grey, briefly read up.

Why does my grey coverage look different every time?

Because how much grey there is changes. A colour that fitted a year ago may not be right today.

What is the difference between covering and blending?

Covering means: the grey disappears completely under the colour. Blending means: the grey stays visible, but becomes softer and mixes with the rest of the hair. The gentle colour from Aveda, which fades again over time, blends in up to a quarter of the grey, according to the manufacturer.

Do I have to colour grey at all?

No. Wearing natural grey is a decision like any other, and the transition can be guided instead of simply sat out. Tell us where you want to go and we will plan the way there.

Why are only my roots coloured and not all of my hair?

Because colour should not go on top of hair that is already coloured. If the whole length is coloured every time, the colour builds up there and the hair looks dull. Renewing the root colour costs CHF 75 to 115 depending on the level; all services are on the price page.

Does grey hair turn yellowish?

It can. White hair takes on tones from its surroundings, from care products to sunlight. A glossing lays a cool tone over it and gives the shine back.

Look first, then decide.
