A strand works because it sits in the right place: at the roots around the face, in the parting, in the depth of the lengths. That is where we put it.

You see no pattern, only lighter hair.

Highlights start at the roots. That is why the roots show again after a few weeks, and that is why we offer the short appointment for the parting alone: it pushes the big one further out.

Good to know before you book.

What are highlights?

Individual strands that are lightened from the roots right into the ends. With balayage the lightening starts further down; with highlights it starts at the top.

Half head or full head: which do I need?

For a half head we work on the top of the head and the sides, from the temple to behind the ears. That is enough if you mostly wear your hair down, because the upper strands cover the lower ones. A full head adds the back of the head and the under section, and it is worth it if you often wear your hair up or want to go noticeably lighter.

What is the difference between baby highlights and highlights?

Baby highlights are many very fine strands with little hair lightened at a time. Instead of a change between light and dark you get a shimmer, and the roots grow out more quietly. Classic highlights set clearer accents and lighten noticeably.

What do highlights cost in Zurich Enge?

A half head costs CHF 180 with Ardijana, Göksu or Pascal and CHF 195 with Elizabeta, a full head CHF 260 or CHF 275. Highlights in the parting cost CHF 95 with Mia, CHF 125 with Ardijana, Göksu or Pascal and CHF 135 with Elizabeta. Every service of the house is on the price page.

Highlights or balayage: which suits me?

Highlights lighten evenly, and the roots become visible over time. Balayage is a gradient that starts further down and therefore grows out without a hard line. The two can be combined. More on the balayage page.

How often do I need a colour refresh?

That depends on the contrast between the strands and your roots, and on how fast your hair grows. We work out the rhythm at the chair; which technique suits your hair is in the guide: Balayage or highlights.
