A soft gradient that begins a little below the roots and therefore grows out without a line. With Ardijana, Göksu, Elizabeta or Pascal at the Aveda Exclusive Salon by Eddine Belaid on Alfred-Escher-Strasse 23, two minutes from Enge station.

The lightening does not start at the roots but a little below, where the sun would lighten the hair: around the face, in the lengths, in the ends. That is why no hard line appears as the hair grows, and the soft gradient often allows longer intervals between colour appointments.
You see lighter hair, not colour.
Colour comes with a finish, always. We only judge a colour, balayage or highlights on dry, styled hair. Wet, every colour looks different, and we never let anyone leave with a result we have not seen. That is why every colour service ends with a finish: blow-dry and styling, or a cut with blow-dry if you are having a cut anyway. The finish has its own price on the price page; the packages already include it.
All prices are on the price page.
Prices are starting prices, depending on length, fullness and base colour. We tell you what it costs for you before the appointment.

Colour and toner with Aveda in one visit, around four hours.
With the right care, tone and shine last longer. We tell you before you leave when the next appointment makes sense.
Balayage is a lightening technique where the colour is placed into the hair by hand instead of being packed into foils. The light sits around the face, in the lengths and in the ends. The roots keep their own colour, which is why balayage grows out without a hard line.
Balayage is made to last for months. How long it stays fresh on you depends on your base colour, your hair growth and your care. In between, a glossing refreshes tone and shine.
No, that is the whole point of balayage. Your roots keep your own colour, the light sits in the lengths and ends. As the hair grows, the gradient moves with it, without a visible transition. The soft gradient often allows longer intervals between colour appointments than highlights do. AirTouch grows out even more softly, because the fine hair is not lightened at all.
Allow around four hours: consultation, colour with development time, toner and blow-dry. That is the average from our appointments over the past months. With very long or very thick hair it takes longer, and we tell you that beforehand.
Balayage including toner costs CHF 349 with Ardijana, Göksu or Pascal and CHF 365 with Elizabeta. That is the colour alone. We always finish colour: with blow-dry and styling, or with a cut and blow-dry. The Balayage Special is the all-inclusive package, balayage, toner, Quick Hairspa, blow-dry and styling, at CHF 429; a cut cannot be added there. More length or fullness can be added; we tell you what it costs for you before the appointment. All prices are on the price page.
Highlights make the hair visibly and evenly blonder, from the roots into the ends, and need a regular root appointment. Balayage looks softer and more natural, with depth on top and light below, and grows out without a line. If you want to be clearly lighter, highlights are right; if you want to look naturally lighter, balayage is.
Yes. In dark hair, balayage does not turn blonde but warm: caramel, honey, bronze. The effect is depth and light, not a change of colour. How light it gets in one appointment depends on your base colour and the condition of your hair. We tell you that beforehand so your hair stays healthy.
